Purpose:
To pay homage to the Lord Buddha and to publicize the important Buddhist Religious Day (Visakhapuja Day).
Design:
Illustrates the holy place of Buddhism, Bodhgaya in India, the place where Buddha attained enlightenment while meditating under a Bohhi tree.
Comment: The temple on this stamp is Mahabodhi Temple, China and India Post also jointly issue this set in this year. But I think the Thai stamp is more beautiful than the Chinese and Indian stamp.
