Yala
Yala (Thai: ยะลา) is the southernmost province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north-west clockwise) Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat. Yala is the only land-locked province in the south of Thailand. The southern part borders Kedah and Perak of Malaysia. This city has once been one of the most beautiful city in Thailand and popular city for tourism. However, after rioter movement for separate, it later became to degenerate.

The provincial seal shows a miner with simple mining tools including hoes, crowbars, and baskets. Yala was originally a mining town with tin and tungsten ores. More...Roi Et
Roi Et (Thai: ร้อยเอ็ด) is one of the provinces (changwat) of Thailand, located in the North-East of Thailand. Neighboring Provinces are (from north clockwise) Kalasin, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Sisaket, Surin and Maha Sarakham.

The provincial seal shows the shrine of the city pillar, which is located in the artificial lake Bueng Phlan Chai. The spirit of the shrine, Mahesak, is highly revered by the local people. More...Ranong
Ranong (Thai ระนอง) is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, on the coast of the Andaman Sea. It is the province with the fewest citizens. Ratchaburi (often shortened Rat'buri, Thai: ราชบุรี) is one of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram and Phetchaburi. In the west it borders Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar.

The provincial seal shows the royal sword and the royal sandals, as the name Ratchaburi means City of the King. The name derives from the fact that King Rama I was born here. Phuket (Thai: ภูเก็ต, formerly known as Tha-Laang or Talang, or Junk Ceylon in Western sources, a distortion of the Malay Tanjung Salang, i.e. "Cape Salang") is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phang Nga and Krabi, but as Phuket is an island there are no land boundaries.

The provincial seal shows a depiction of the Two Heroines Monument. This monument was buit to commemorate the heroic acts of two brave women, Thao Thepkasatree aand Thao Srisunthorn, who protected the town of Thalang from a Burmese attack. More...Maha Sarakham

Mae Hong Son (Thai แม่ฮ่องสอน) (also Maehongson, Mae Hong Sorn or Maehongsorn) is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, and at the same time the westernmost. Yasothon (Thai: ยโสธร) is one of the provinces (changwat) of Thailand, located in the North-East of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket and Roi Et.

The seal of the province shows two mythical lions, called Singh, facing the chedi Pra A-non, in the temple Wat Maha That in the city Yasothon. In the legendary account of the founding of the city, a lion came out of the forest when the site was chosen; hence the city was called Ban Singh Tha (Thai: บ้านสิงห์ท่า), Home (of) Imposing Lion. Purpose: To commemorate 16th Thai Philatelic Exhibition 2009, held between 4-9 August 2009 at Siam Paragon Department Store, Bangkok

Design: Illustrating Thai traditional puppet performances

Hun Lakorn Lek, a type of traditional Thai puppetry, was developed by Kru Krae Sapthawanich on the model of the Ramayana Thai puppets originated in the court of Krom Phra Ratchawang been transmitted to the present day through the dedicated work of Kru Sakorn Youngkhiewsod, also known as "Joe Louis", and members of his family. The first public performance of Hun Lakorn Lek was given at Joe Louis Theater in 1985. H.R.H. Princess Galayani Vadhana later renamed this theater to the "Nattayasala Hun Lakorn Lek" Theater.

The major driving force behiknd the amazingly life-like performance of Hun Lakorn Lek puppetry is the puppet artists themselves who, through their expert Khon performance skills, bring these puppets to live. Three puppet artists are required to manipulate each ppuppet. To give a faultless performance all there artists must be able to fuse their throughs and mind together and perform as one person.

Comment: This is a great real posted FDC, not only my friend sent this FDC from the THAIPEX'09 temporary post office with designer's autograph (Miss Mayuree Narknisorn), but also this is a World Premier First 3D Motion Stamp of Thailand. I hope you can see the effect of this set.

Purpose:
To pay homage to the Lord Buddha and to publicize the important Buddhist Religious Day (Visakhapuja Day).

Design:
Illustrating the ancient alms bowl-shaped stupa situated at Sarnath where the Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to the five ascetics. This stupa was constructed and made from sandstone.

Designs: Illustrate the water lily
3 บาท BAHT: Suwanna Water Lily
The Suwanna Water Lily is a hybrid of the the "Khao Thammanune" and the "Blue Capense", Water lilies of this kind have two colours of the petals alternate. There are dots on the petals, stamen and pistil, giving the flowers different design.

3 บาท BAHT: Tan-khwan Water Lily
The Tan-khwan Water Lily is a hybrid of the "Perris Fire Opal" and the "Sirius", bred by Pairatana Songpanich of the Department of Agriculture. The colour is deep pink, almost red and some have a rosy colour. The form of the flower is star-like, with layers of petals, forming 44 to 48 petal layers.

3 บาท BAHT: Tanpong Water Lily
The Tanpong Water Lily is a hybrid of the "Mayla" and the "Madam Ville Frongoniere," bred by Pairatana Pongpanich of the Department of Agriculture. The flower bud tapers to the end and the top and bulges in the middle. The petal tip is pointed. The petals are white and red. The petal layers are especially dense with more than 45 petal layers. The flower in full bloom is large and semi-circular in shape and emits a soft fragrance.

The Mangala-Ubol Water Lily is a hybrid of the "Maxicana" and the "Parries Five O," bred by Asst. Prof. Dr. Noppachai Chansilpa. The flower has dense layers of petals. It is orange yellow in colour with the ends of the petals being orange. The flower in full bloom is large and circular in shape and has a sweet fragrance. The stalk holds the flower up from the water.

Name: H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana's Cremation Ceremony

Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand, Princess of Naradhiwas (Thai: สมเด็จพระเจ้าพี่นางเธอ เจ้าฟ้ากัลยาณิวัฒนา กรมหลวงนราธิวาสราชนครินทร์) (6 May 1923 – 2 January 2008) was a Princess of Thailand and the elder sister of King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) and King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). She was also a direct granddaughter of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).

When she came to take permanent residency in Thailand, she made use of knowledge by teaching in many academic institutions as well as by helping her mother, Somdet Phra Srinagarindra the Princess Mother, in various social activities. During her life time, H.R.H. the Princess of Narathivat devoted herself to the education of young people and promoting social welfare in terms of medical and public health care as well as the environment. She had applied her experience to the development of the country. Her interests covered a wide range of experience in writing and academic pursuits. For this, she earned the titles, the Writer Princess and the Academic Princess. Many of the books she wrote have helped to enhance people's understanding of the country's history, customs and politics.

During the final stage of her life, the Princess of Narathivat was admitted to the Chalerm Prakiet Building in Siriraj Hospital. She passed away, at the age of 84, on January 2nd, 2008 at 2.54 a.m. The Royal Household Bureau has scheduled November 14th, 2008 as the day of the royal cremation.

Thailand Statue of King FDC

Purpose:
To commemorate the centenary of the equestrian statue of King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V).

Designs: Illustrates the stamp on stamp design. The design of the Statue of King Chulalongkorn Commemorative Stamp, 2 Baht denomination, was printed on the Centenary of the Equestrian Statue of King Chulalongkorn Commemorative Stamp.

The Equestrian Statue of King Rama V the Great was erected in 1908 during the reign of King Rama V from a fund raised by the Thai people. The statue was cast in Paris by a French craftsman and located at the center of The Royal Plaza (Thai ลานพระบรมรูปทรงม้า). The remainder of the fund was spent by King Rama VI on the establishment of Chulalongkorn University, which was named after King Chulalongkorn, Rama V.

Comment: Who knows the issue date of the old stamp on this stamp?

Phichit
Phichit (Thai: พิจิตร) is one of the provinces (changwat) of Thailand, located in the north of the country. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan and Kamphaeng Phet.

The provincial seal shows a pond, which refers to the old name of Phichit, Mueang Sra Luang (meaning city at the royal pond). The Banyan tree in front refers to the temple Wat Pho Prathab Chang. The temple was built in 1669-71 by King Luang Sorasak, who was born in the village of Pho Prathab Chang, between a Banyan and a Sacred Fig. More...Phitsanulok
Phitsanulok (Thai: พิษณุโลก) is one of the provinces (changwat) of Thailand, located in the North of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from east clockwise) Loei, Phetchabun, Phichit, Kamphaeng Phet, Sukhothai, Uttaradit. In the north-east it also has a short border with Xaignabouli of Laos.

The seal of the province shows the Buddha Chinnarat, which is considered one of the most beautiful Buddha figures in Thailand. It is located in Wat Mahathat temple in the city Phitsanulok. More...Phetchaburi

Phetchabun (Thai: เพชรบูรณ์) is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Loei, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Lopburi, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit and Phitsanulok.

The provincial seal show a diamond on a mountain, as diamonds are found in the province. In the front are tobacco plants as one of the crops grown in the province. More...Phrae
Phrae (Thai: แพร่) is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai and Lampang.

According to legend the two cities of Phrae and Nan were once ruled by brothers. When they met to divide the land between them the one from Phrae rode on a horse, the one from Nan on a buffalo to the meeting point on top of a mountain. Hence Phrae uses a horse in their seal, while Nan uses a buffalo. When the provincial government proposed the seal in 1940, the Fine Arts Department suggested to add some historic building to the seal additional to the horse, thus it now have the pagoda of Phra Tat Cho Hae on the back of the horse. Pattani
Pattani (Thai ปัตตานี) is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from south-east clockwise) Narathiwat, Yala and Songkhla.

The seal of the province shows the cannon called Phraya Tani, which was cast in the Pattani province. It was brought to Bangkok in 1785, and is now on display in front of the Ministry of Defence in Bangkok. More...Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya
Ayutthaya (full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thai: พระนครศรีอยุธยา, pronounced eye-you-TEE-a) is one of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Ang Thong, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Suphan Buri.

Phang Nga (Thai: พังงา) is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, on the shore to the Andaman Sea. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Ranong, Surat Thani and Krabi. To the south is the Phuket province, but without land boundary to Phang Nga.

Phayao (Thai พะเยา) is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from east clockwise) Nan, Phrae, Lampang and Chiang Rai. In the north-east it borders Xaignabouli of Laos.

The provincial seal shows Buddha, representing the famous Buddha image in the temple Wat Si Khom Kham called Phra Chao Ton Luang. Behind him are 7 flames showing the glory of Buddha. In front of Buddha is a bowl and two ears of rice. More...
