Comment: Because the € 2.80 stamp has used lithography on sheets laminated in gold, with 2 grams of pure gold per square metre. Could you figure out how much pure gold is there on this single stamp (30mm x 40mm)? lol

Comment: Italy FDC never has beautiful illustration and is always small size, so it's hard to glue all of the valid materials (registered label, additional stamps etc.) on the face side.

€ 0.60: The € 0.60 stamp features the outline of an Olympic torchbearer pictured in the centre of a ceramic plate. Its stylised graphics depict part of the globe's surface, with two red dots indicating the geographic locations of Athens and Beijing. The plate is framed in by a Greek border on the left and a floral border on the right. The five Olympic rings are pictured in the upper right.

€ 0.85: The € 0.85 stamp features a disc framed in by a Greek border on the left and a floral border on the right. On the left-hand side of the disc, there are some figures of athletes similar to those designed on Ancient Greek ceramics; on the right-hand side there are some Asian athletes. The five Olympic rings are pictured in the centre of the disc.

Comment: What a long trip again from Italy, it was sent on 07.07.08, but reach to me on 09.09.08.

Italy Molise FDC

Name: Regions of Italy - Molise

Molise is a region of Southern Italy, the second smallest of the regions. It was formerly (until 1963) part of the region of Abruzzi e Molise (with Abruzzo) and now a separate entity. The region covers 4,438 km² and has a population of about 300,000.

Isernia (Latin: Aesernia or, in Pliny and later writers, Eserninus, or in the Antonine Itinerary, Serni; Greek: Αἰσερνία) is a town and comune in the central Italian region of Molise, and the capital of Isernia province. Isernia is a flourishing center of pasta makers, stone masons, and embroidery crafts.

This stamp depicts the Fraterna Fountain (Italian: Fontana della Fraterna), it is the main symbol in Isernia town and it was built in the 13th century : it is made up of living- stone's slabs coming from ruined Roman monuments, while all the rest is a work of local masters, as it was built by the Rampini family in Isernia.

Comment: I don't know whether my comment is correct, but I still want to comment it. The main design of this stamp is the Fraterna Fountain which is located in Isernia town, but the special cancellation for this stamp only used in Campobasso, far from Isernia town. I think It would be better if the special cancellation had used in Isernia.

Features a close up of some volunteer nurses of the Italian Red Cross who are marching with the Italian tricolour and on the background, some Red Cross nurses in a uniform dating from the beginning of the 1900s. The logo of the Italian Red Cross' Volunteer Nursing Corps is reproduced at the bottom left.

Comment: This FDC was issued on 29th Jan, but I receive it on 14th March. It was packed in a big POSTE ITALIANE plastic bag and enclosed a piece of paper. I don't know what's meaning of it and what happened.

Name: The 60th Anniversary of the Italian Constitution
Issue date: 2008 January 2nd

The Constitution of Italy (Italian: Costituzione della Repubblica Italiana) is the supreme law of Italy. It was approved by the Constituent Assembly (Assemblea Costituente) on 22 December 1947; with 453 votes for, 62 votes against, and 3 votes canceled. The Constituent Assembly was elected with the universal suffrage on 2 June 1946; at the same time, italian people voted to switch the form of the state from Monarchy to Republic; This is the Birth of the Italian Republic.

The 1948 Constitution established a bicameral parliament, with a lower and an upper chamber (respectively Chamber of Deputies and Senate), a separate judiciary branch, and an executive branch composed of a Council of Ministers (cabinet), headed by the president of the council (prime minister). The government depends on confidence from each branch of the parliament, and has in turn the power to make decrees. Decrees have to be confirmed in the parliament, and "decree jam" has been a problem in recent years, as governments try to reform the structure of the state using chiefly decrees instead of passing laws directly through the parliament.
