Argentina Road Safety FDC

Argentina FDC
Name: National Plan of Road Safety
Issue date: 2007 May 19th

Lack of road safety entails risks for life, health, and people's possessions, and threatens the chances of enjoying public spaces shared by a community. According to a report published by WHO, in 2002, and average of 3,242 were killed every day in road traffic crashes, and that rate rises daily with the increase in population and the proliferation of automobiles. This report points out that these numbers are even worse in low and middle-income countries, where 90% of deaths caused by road traffic crashes occur; the report states that between 1990 and 2020, deaths are likely to rise in average more than 80% in lower-income countries, while decreasing almost 30% in high-income countries.
